With a background as a trauma nurse, educator, and case manager, Chelse's passion for learning and educating shines through her children's books. Through her writing, she strives to engage young minds, providing them with valuable knowledge and fostering a love for learning. Her dedication to helping others extends beyond the healthcare realm, as she uses her creative talents to inspire, educate, and uplift those around her. The series, Let’s Learn with Nurse Chelse, is an interactive book series that provides valuable information on a disease or condition, its signs and symptoms, and how medicines work. The first of its series, Let’s Learn about Diabetes with Nurse Chelse, is available on Amazon, local bookstores, and endocrinologist offices across the country. Next in its series, Let’s Learn about Asthma with Nurse Chelse, is set to debut in September of 2024.
Heart and Kidney Healthy Seasonings
Growing up and taking care of my diabetic brother, I created a seasoning product that not only fit the nutrition criteria to be heart and kidney safe for him, but also flavorful. It took no time at all before the whole family was requesting the seasoning, and every six months a large batch would be sent to family members across the country. Years later and working as a cardiopulmonary home health care nurse, I recognized the prevalence of heart and kidney healthy diets as the majority of my patients were on sodium restrictions. Unfortunately, salt was still being used in their dishes due to the limited options of low sodium seasonings and not wanting to give up flavorful food. That’s when I realized that these seasonings needed to be available to the public. Launched in 2023, Heart and Kidney Healthy Seasonings made their debut, showcasing 9 different seasonings!
